China's WoW Infinite Beta Raises the Cap to 30 — and Builds a Full-Size Dalaran in Shanghai

The Chinese Infinite beta is expected to hit level 30 on October 13 with the Legacy system and new dungeon content, while the same week brings an offline carnival at Shanghai's National Exhibition Centre with a 1:1 Dalaran set and rideable mount statues.

The Chinese beta for World of Warcraft: Infinite — the local name for Forever — is doing two things in the same week: raising its level cap and turning into a physical event. One of those is a content milestone. The other is a 1:1 Dalaran built inside a convention hall.

The cap is expected to reach 30 on October 13

Chinese-language coverage published on October 12 states that the beta's level cap will move from 20 to 30 on the morning of October 13, with two additions attached to the jump. Both are things the global beta has already seen:

  • The Legacy system, unlocking at level 25. This is Forever's account-wide horizontal progression layer — points earned by completing challenges on any character, spent in three trees that the Chinese description names as Professions, Adventure and Abundance. In the global beta, Legacy unlocks at 25 as well, which is the clearest sign that the two betas are running the same content script rather than diverging.
  • Another dungeon band. Chinese reporting points to a new instance around levels 26–31 located in the Wetlands — the Excavation Site the global beta opened with its level 30 build on October 1.

A second, weaker signal is circulating in Chinese self-media: that the Dalaran dungeon now has a summonable hidden boss. The reported chain runs from the Black Tome in Shadowfang Keep (looted from Arúgal's desk), taken to the Ambermill Leyline Focus in Silverpine Forest to be converted into a "Dalaran Tome," then used at a purple rune circle past the first boss in the Dalaran sewers. The reported rewards are a caster dagger, a skinning pair of gloves or a blue shield, and the tome is said to persist with a three-minute cooldown so a failed attempt can be retried. This is player-reported, single-source detail and we have not reproduced it; treat it as a rumour with coordinates rather than a guide.

One distinction matters here: the original Chinese reporting describes a single new dungeon in the Wetlands, while the hidden-boss write-up is about Dalaran. If the Chinese beta's level-30 phase includes both, the local build is at or slightly ahead of where the global beta was at the same point.

The offline carnival: "Infinite Party: Dalaran on the Ground"

Separately, and with much more certainty, Blizzard China's offline event runs October 16–18 at the National Exhibition Centre in Shanghai, hall 1.2H, with tickets having gone on sale on October 11. The premise is a full-scale reconstruction of Dalaran — the magical city that sits at the centre of Infinite's current dungeon content.

The build details released in the official Chinese feed are unusually specific for a marketing event:

  • A giant kodo statue is on site but cannot be ridden, for safety reasons. Other mount statues can be sat on.
  • Landmarks reproduced at scale include the Antonidas monument, a Dalaran commercial bank facade, and a large wishing well. The feed's own framing is that visitors look gnome-sized next to the buildings.
  • Mechanical detail is part of the pitch — a working gear mechanism on an "instrument" shop sign is described as already turning ahead of opening.
  • A printed player tour handbook marks the demo zone for the newest content, the separate Alliance and Horde areas, and the merchandise stands.

For readers outside China, the useful part is what the event signals. Blizzard China is treating Infinite as a product with a physical fan base measured in exhibition halls, not just a beta test with a pre-order tier — and it is spending marketing money in the same fortnight that the global beta is winding down toward its October 21 close.

What the Chinese beta is, for anyone arriving late

If you are coming to this cold, the short version:

ItemDetail
Test windowOctober 6 – October 26, 2026, wipe test (characters and progress are cleared)
Level cap20 at the start, rising to 30 mid-test
Content at launchSkyborne race, Zephras Isle starting zone, Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron dungeons
AccessSkyborne Epic Pack (¥388) — Skyborne unlock, 30 days of game time, name reservation, beta entry — or the ¥218 Heroic Pack, which also unlocks Skyborne but does not include beta access
Name reservationNovember 3–4 in China, versus October 27 – November 3 globally
LaunchNovember 5 in China, alongside the global November 4 launch

Two clarifications that Chinese coverage has been repeating because players keep asking: the ¥388 pack is not a launch ticket. At launch, Infinite is playable with ordinary game time; no expansion purchase is required. What the pack buys is Skyborne, 30 days, a name reservation window and a beta seat. And the beta itself is a wipe — nothing survives into launch, which is why the sensible advice circulating in Chinese communities is to treat it as a free tutorial rather than a character to invest in.

What we are watching

  • Whether the level-30 move is announced officially. The October 13 timing comes from Chinese self-media estimating from the beta's pacing, not from a Blizzard post. The date has been right in past cycles, but it has not been confirmed.
  • Whether the Chinese beta gets content the global beta did not. If Dalaran's hidden boss is real and present in both, that is one more data point that the two builds are synchronised.
  • What happens to the event infrastructure after October 18. A full-size Dalaran is a substantial spend for a three-day hall. Whether Blizzard China runs a second one closer to the November 5 launch is an open question.
Accurate as of October 13, 2026. The level-30 timing, the Legacy unlock at 25 and the Wetlands dungeon band come from Chinese-language reporting dated October 12 and are described by their own publishers as expectations rather than official announcements; the hidden-boss chain in Dalaran comes from a single self-media post and is unverified. The event details, ticket date and build contents come from Blizzard China's own event feed and Huya's ticketing page. The beta window, level cap progression, pack contents and launch date are drawn from Blizzard's October 6 announcement as reported by 17173, plus the pricing analysis published by 什么值得买. RealmList has not tested the Chinese build and cannot verify in-game state from outside the region.
