Four Days Before Launch, Forever Rewrites Paladin, Druid and Mage Talents — With No Way to Test Any of It
A client diff dated October 31 shows Forever rebuilding all three Paladin trees, deleting Berserk from Feral, giving Wild Growth a three-second cast, restoring Ice Lance to 300% on an eight-second cooldown, and moving Shadow Word: Death backlash to 30% of max health. There is no blue post, no patch note and no test window. Here is the full change list, what reverses an earlier October decision, and where our two sources disagree.

Blizzard's October 29 Roundtable: Where Forever Came From, What It Is Trying Never to Solve, and the Loot Tables It Is Hiding
Associate game director Chris Gierach and lead engineer Nora Mills told Korean press that Forever was conceived in the early 2020s and built from the summer of 2024, named four design criteria, said the talent trees were rebuilt from scratch off the 2005 version, targeted raid difficulty "slightly harder than Molten Core but smoother than Naxxramas", and confirmed the team is deliberately keeping dungeon and raid loot out of the client.

WoW Forever's Name Reservation Is Open — With an Oceanic Ruleset Bug, a Broken Name Filter, and a Week Still to Run
Early name reservation opened on October 27 and runs through November 3. Within hours Blizzard confirmed two bugs: Oceanic players lose access to the Roleplay rulesets if they create a Normal or PvP character first, and the restricted name filter is rejecting legitimate names, including any containing "con". Reports of queues, disconnects and Horde throttling are player-side and unconfirmed.
