OutlawCraft: Survive Launches October 12 With a Wipe Every Month — Here Is What Actually Survives
Most private servers ask one question before you commit: is it worth the time. OutlawCraft: Survive asks a sharper one, because it has already told you the answer — everything resets on the 12th of every month. It launches Monday October 12, 2026 at 22:00 UTC (6 PM EDT) on the 3.3.5a client, after a beta that opened on September 16, and the launch itself is a wipe.

What the thing is
OutlawCraft: Survive is a full-loot zombie survival realm built on the Wrath of the Lich King client. Full loot means what it says: dying costs you what you were carrying, which is the mechanic that turns a levelling MMO into a survival game. On top of that it layers claims, bases and code locks — player-built structures — and, per the pre-launch update on October 3, warships, an island sea and rival factions.
None of the above is independently play-tested by us. The specifics below come from the project's own announcements and its directory listing, which is the honest ceiling on what a guide written two days before launch can tell you.
The reset schedule, in full
The monthly wipe is not a surprise mechanic; it is on a calendar, and the calendar is published in advance on the website, in Discord and in the launcher.
| Wipe | Date |
|---|---|
| Launch wipe | 12 October 2026 |
| Next | 12 November 2026 |
| Then | 12 December 2026 |
The developer's stated reason is worth quoting, because it tells you what kind of game this is meant to be: "Gear and walls that pile up forever turn a survival game into a waiting game." A survival realm where the best base and the best gear are held by whoever logged in earliest stops being a survival realm and becomes a landlord sim with zombies attached.
What you keep and what you lose
This is the table to read before you spend a night on a base.
| Reset every month | Persists |
|---|---|
| Characters, levels and talents | Your account |
| Inventory, bank, mail and money | Shop cosmetics (chat colours, tags, VIP time) |
| Clans | Website tokens and points |
| Claims, bases and code locks | Discord roles |
| Vehicles, boats and ships | Transmog appearances you have unlocked |
| Items from the vote store | — |
The shape of that split is a clear design statement: mechanical progress is seasonal, identity is permanent. Your character does not survive; your account, your unlocked appearances and your standing in the community do. A cosmetic-only shop combined with a monthly reset means there is no way to sell power that survives the wipe — which is the structural version of the "no pay-to-win" claim, and it is a stronger guarantee than a policy sentence.
Rules that change how you play
Four launch rules matter more than the rate numbers.
- One character per account. No alt army, no bank mule, no second body to scout with. Everything you own travels with the one character that can lose it.
- One login per IP at a time. Multiboxing is off the table by rule rather than by detection.
- Booty Bay is a ceasefire zone. You need one place on the map where a trade does not end in an ambush.
- Kalimdor is sealed at launch and opens as the population grows, with players getting a say in how. That is a staged map rather than a small one, and it means the launch version is deliberately narrower than the finished one.
How to be ready on Monday
- Get your own 3.3.5a client (build 12340). You are not borrowing OutlawCraft's files; the project's launcher patches a client you supply. Our client download checklist covers what to verify before you point anything at a server.
- Use the launcher, not manual patches. Per the announcement it installs the required patch and addon and sets the realmlist for you, which removes the most common failure mode — a stale realmlist or a mismatched patch sitting in
Data. - Confirm the time in your own zone. 22:00 UTC on Monday, October 12. For anyone east of Europe that is the small hours of the 13th; do not plan your evening around a date without converting it.
- Decide your first-night goal in advance. With a monthly reset, the optimal opening is not "level fast" — it is "reach the point where you can hold a claim." Those are different routes and only one of them is fun on a first night.
- Treat the first month as the calibration month. November 12 is the first wipe that matters for a schedule you chose deliberately. October is for finding out where the danger actually is.
Two things to verify yourself
The population, once it exists. A brand-new realm has no meaningful population history, and directory estimates for new servers are close to guesses. Our guide to reading population claims explains why the first week's numbers should be discounted in both directions.
Whether the cosmetic-only shop stays cosmetic. The Founder chat tag sold from launch until December 11 is flagged as surviving every wipe, and the project says everything in its shop is cosmetic. That is a claim to re-check after the first wipe, not before it — the moment something with stats appears in a store that already sells permanence, the structure above stops protecting you. Our sustainability signals checklist covers what a shop's contents say about a project's long-term intentions.
The honest read
A monthly full-loot wipe is the most honest monetisation model a private server can ship, because it removes the entire category of advantage that outlives skill. It is also the model that punishes casual players hardest: miss two weeks of a four-week cycle and you have missed half the month. If your playtime is irregular, the December 12 wipe will feel like it arrives on top of you.
If your playtime is a couple of focused nights a month, a calendar that guarantees everyone starts level every cycle is the fairest version of this genre you are likely to find.
