Forsaken Kingdom: The Warcraft III Story Bridge to WoW Forever

Blizzard's new Warcraft III campaign connects Lordaeron's aftermath with Forever. Here is the announcement context and what it does not imply for existing realms.

WoW Forever was not the only Warcraft announcement worth separating from the BlizzCon headline reel. Blizzard also introduced Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom, a campaign about the Forsaken's emergence from the ruins of Lordaeron.

A connection between strategy and MMO storytelling

The official overview follows Sylvanas and the Forsaken toward their foothold in the Undercity. Blizzard places Forever shortly after this campaign's events. Forsaken Kingdom requires Warcraft III: Reforged; it is not a WoW expansion installed through an existing realm client.

Why this interests a Classic audience

For RealmList, the interesting editorial angle is the choice of starting point. Lordaeron and the Undercity are places players already associate with original Azeroth. Returning to that transition offers a different kind of context from jumping directly to a later expansion's endgame.

That is an interpretation of the announcement, not a prediction about the complete plot. We are not treating a campaign overview as confirmation of every future MMO quest, faction relationship, or playable character.

Keep story coverage separate from realm compatibility

A familiar location does not establish compatibility with a familiar client. Readers browsing our directory should still check each community's own expansion, supported version, and connection instructions. An official campaign announcement does not change those requirements.

Likewise, a connection in the story does not demonstrate shared account progression or character transfers between games. Those would need their own explicit documentation.
