Gilneas is Whitemane's fresh Cataclysm realm, opened on 6 June 2026 with raids following two weeks later. It is the first release of the reorganised "Whitemane 2.0" line-up and runs on the modern Cataclysm Classic (4.4.2) client rather than the legacy 4.3.4 build — so 4.3.4 addons do not work here.
Experience is deliberately not a flat multiplier: the rate starts around x2.3 at level one, climbs every ten levels, and peaks at up to x6 through Outland and Northrend before easing back for Cataclysm content. The realm is a normal ruleset — world PvP is not enforced — but War Mode can be switched on in any major city for a 20% experience bonus in exchange for open-world flagging.
Whitemane distributes the client through its own app, so there is no realmlist line to copy. The launcher runs natively on Windows and falls back to Wine or Proton on Linux and macOS, including Steam Deck. A live player counter on the network's realm page showed roughly 480 players online when this entry was checked.
